OPERA THEATRE OF THE ROCKIES: An Afternoon of Music by Douglas Moore

Back by popular demand, singers from Opera Theatre of the Rockies will perform Gallantry, a one-act soap opera parody, plus a narrated version of The Ballad of Baby Doe. Both works are by acclaimed American composer, Douglas Moore. Singers from the company will also conduct a master class for vocal music students at the Custer County High School on Monday, November 17.
Opera Theatre of the Rockies is located in Colorado Springs and now in its 14th season is dedicated to the advancement of opera throughout southern Colorado through performance, education and training. Martile Rowland, Founder and Artistic Director, was named the 2006 Classical Singer-Teacher of the Year by Classical Singer magazine.
PATTERSON/SUTTON DUO: Cello and Guitar

The PATTERSON/SUTTON DUO is hailed for its bravado performances, consummate musicianship, and illuminating mixed-media lectures. the duo explores the landscape of cell and guitar music and seeks to broaden its horizons through recording, performing, and working closely with some ot the genre’s most important composers.
The performers traveled recently to Afganistan to teach and perform in Kabul. Patrick’s schedule for 2014 includes a month-long tour of South Africa with flutist, Cobus du Toit.
BOULDER BASSOON QUARTET

The Boulder Bassoon Quartet has impressed a wide audience through substantive, engaging performances since 2006. The Quartet is dedicated to expanding the repertoire for the bassoon quartet in a variety of genres through new arrangements and original compositions. All members of the group have attended the University of Colorado College of Music and are active members of the arts community and are committed to music education.
The Boulder Bassoon Quartet will perform for students at the Custer County Schools on Monday, April 20, 2015.
